Default What turbo?? (Discussion)

Just gonna throw this out and see what people say but, what would be the best turbo for a 2.0 Zetec turbo to reach 300-350bhp.

Small high speed turbo? Or big slow monster?

T3? T34?? or something else?

Hybrid non hybrid?

I think Carisma Dave on FT is running a T34.

He got 324bph i think it was and nearly 400lb torque (this was on Ahmed or Haveys dyno I think)

T28 qont be happy doing 350bhp, but a GT28RS (aka the disco potato) would

Gotta be the GT28RS i reckon, its perfect for that application providing you get the compresison sensible (not got a massive exhaust housing)

GT28RS is 35lb @ mid senties at best on effiecency (ddepending on how much boost is needed to flow it on his particular engine), nowhere near 80, so im guessing you think he should go bigger than that then stu?

35lb is normally a bit over 350bhp though, and he was talking about 300-350, so to me it seems silly going any larger than the gt28rs

GT28RS or GT2871 depending how far you wanted with the power.

Also depends what compression and fuel you using, amongest other things...

GT28R would be better for a CVH, if you want something along those lines.

Ok idealy want the turbo to be as responsive as possiable and hit the 300-350 without to much stress on typical optimax from the shell pump (97RON isn't it?)

I think the compression ratio is going to be quite low.

The turbo is the easy bit, getting the cylinder head to flow and deliever what you want + the rest of the engine spec is what you should really be concerned about.

350hp aint quite as easy to achieve as most people think.

.
.
.
.
.
then again it aint that hard either (especially when you choose a zetec over a cvh to start with + deal with the right people who have proven this before).
