Default Question - FRST - E.cos Fuel pump

just bought a cossie fuel pump for my frst, it was originally fitted by ahmed to the lads car i got it out of. Just wondering if i need to upgrade the wiring though, as the pump i have has has thicker power feeds hard wired to the top of the pump, as apposed to using the ford connector

Ive been told that i may have to run a relay and use a larger feed due to the supposed larger current draw on the pump

dont want to fit it, plug it in and watch my wire trace down to the tank like a fuse wire

any ideas would be brilliant

cheers

chris
