What can the standard cossie clutch clutch hold?

I hear some may take 330 brake where others will max at 270...

I think it would handle either of the bhp figures you have quoted but the question is how long would it last? When my sapphire was at stg 3 330 bhp I went for an AP organic, when I bolted a GT30 to it, 400+ bhp I went an AP six paddle, which was horrible to be honest

Thanks mate. I think I'll chance it and use the OEM one. Then save up for a hydraulic swap and a better clutch later. She gets babied anyway.

i would have said 300 would be safe ,depending on clutch make and flywheel condition

Hi Charlie,I have a Helix 6 paddle clutch on my 450bhp 2wd Saff with a centre push hydraulic conversion and have found it ok. The new hydraulic clutch conversion has made a big positive difference.

Hello Mate I didn’t have the hydraulic conversion on mine so it was the cable only, it was either on or off with no in-between which I didn’t like

Hi Charlie,
I think the centre push hydraulic clutch conversion is the way to go.. Years back when I still had a cable operation mine was just the same , Virtually no play at all , 1 inch or less of movement which was a nightmare in slow traffic!!! As you know the T5 is not the best for smooth gear changes so having a strong clutch which works properly is vital!!

yes mate I would imagine the hydraulic conversion is very good, my beast was 4x4 so I had the MT75 gearbox. I spent a load of money on the transmission in my car, diffs, beam, big tooth gear kit then the engine shit itself end of era for me, broke the car and bought a mk2 Focus rs
