Default Ford Puma Viewing Horror Show

So i went to look at a ford Puma tonight (1.7 year 2000 83k clock) it's passed an mot in May this year. The photos made it look mint, I get there and the owner is a very old lady so I figure this could be very good bargain here. She opens the garage door and gives me the keys and says i can test drive it.

I get in and start the car up but it refuses to move, it felt as though the break was on even though it was not so obv something seized up, she mentioned the breaks have got locked on before...it was quite awkward but she said that i can come over next week to view it again.

However both the rear arches had totally rusted i could not see the rest of the car to well due to it being inside a very small dark garage.....is it a walk away job or do I try and barter her down a lot!?? and fix myself? quite keen on getting a puma before they become extinct but there is not many in my local area online being advertised. I feel quite gutted that the condition was worse then i thought it would be from the advert

Im guessing this was like a £600 car anyway? The arches love to rot on Puma's, depends if your willing to do the work yourself. Easy cars to source parts for/easy to work on and repair so if its cheap and you're handy with the welder its not really a big deal

Check the floor to make sure it's not rotton.

I think for good Pumas the prices will rise.

Anti-Rust proofing was a process which Ford had never heard of or just ignored back then Glenn. I guess they did'nt want their cars to last to long!! I presume you scrapped your Puma?

This.

Don't waste time and money welding one up, just buy the best you can find.
