Default OBD2 code reader

Can anyone recommend a code reader for < £150 that works. Was thinking about an autel elite. Tried a basic autel model and it didn’t support the airbag module on a Renault.

Depends what you want to mainly use it for , a lot of the cheaper ones ain't worth a toss. I bought a Foxwell one off Amazon, and have yet to find any car it will work on.

As I run a Golf I bought OBDeleven which is only for vag group cars, bluetooth dongle for Android phone and it's brilliant.

Saw an online review on You Tube of the Launch that was about £200 and it seems decent. Will see if I can find the link (bit more than your budget tho) http://www.cartool.co.uk/wholesale/l...hoCj54QAvD_BwE

Thanks for the link. It looks a decent machine, certainly more than good enough for me playing at fixing cars. I know like everything you only get what you pay for but I’m going to try and stick to my budget but if nobody gives me anymore recommendations then I’ll maybe go for it.

Basic EOBD/OBD2 scanners ONLY support the engine and automatic or robotized gearboxes.
The EOBD and OBD2 standard does NOT cover any other systems like ABS, Airbag, etc.
If you want more support for more systems then you're going to have to spend more money than £150.

The Launch seems like a nice kit for home use. But it all depends on the coverage.
Maybe you should try to get a demonstration of this scanner.
