Default Cossie engine rebuild - what head gasket to choose?

Hi,

The Grp A head gasket of my 4x4 cossie let go last week. As I pulled the head off I also noticed some engine wear so I am going to rebuild the engine.
The engine is running a MSD 380 bhp setup with T34. Thats enough for me (and the standard drivetrain) so I am not looking for more power.
As the bottom end and cylinder head will be skimmed flat I am looking for the best head gasket to use for my setup. I am not going to longstud the engine so I will use the normal headbolts.

At the previous head gasket change in 2007 I purchased a Grp A head gasket and some 10.9 head bolts from Woodford Garage. I dont know if these are the right head bolts. But from what I have read the original 4x4 KXA1000 stretched head bolts are very hard to get these days.

I see the Victor Reinz Grp A and also the WRC 4 layer Mountune head gasket which Matt Lewis is selling. Is the WRC the best head gasket to buy when using standard head bolts?
And what are the best available head bolts to use?

Hope you guys can help me out to get it sorted.

If rebuilding and importantly skimming both the head and block then yes fit the WRC type, its a fit and forget solution at your power

Multi layer wrc, that's what my last one had, faced block and head and standard head bolts, held up to a t4 2.2 bar 470 hp no problems

I would use the wrc and long stud the block this is the best combo to make the engine last.

Long studed is too expensive for me so I am looking for the second best solution. I know long studed is the best.

Don't bother with ARP studs just use standard head bolts is what I would do

To be onest it's all down the you budget mate keeping it cheap standard head bolts and a WRC multy layer head gasket witch for your power will be fine as long as your block is not cracked . The best way the same gasket but long studded but then you have the cost of the shipping the block to and from how is going to do the work and the stud kit . And there is not a lot of places around that can do it . And again it's wots your budget as if your putting pistons in there is Ł500 on it's own
