Default Van won't start from cold without....

Using easy start, once it's started it will start everytime all day long, it just that 1st initial start in the morning.

Changed the maf, all 4 glow plugs and crank sensor, all glow plugs receive 12v dropping to 5 after a few seconds.

Vans is a Nissan primastar (aka a Renault trafic)

On my cat engines the cranking speed isn't fast enough for the fuel pump to make enough pressure for the ECM to open the injectors, easy start makes the engine fire increasing the engine speed to then get the pressure high enough for the ECM to open injectors, these modern engines are alot different to the old engines when they wouldn't cold start

You cannot guess these things though rail pressure needs testing under cranking, I've not had a failed heui pump yet it's always been leaking injectors causing a drop in pressure, if you have individual fuel lines they can be blanked, but if you haven't only way I've found is finding cylinders that aren't firing within 10 seconds after cold start to isolate faulty injector

Air leaks are common on the fuel filter, hand primer if it has one, draws air overnight.

Anything will start with easy start lol its compression ignition it will run on the easy start. it could a number of things injector leak off affecting the rail pressure that could be 1 bad injector or 4 slightly bad ones. a small fuel leak causing an air lock or drawing in air. low fuel pressure.

so this morning it really didn't want to start even with easy start, 20 minutes messing about, battery almost dead - had to get the booster cables and connect it to my car, a little sluggish to turn over (to be expected) but she fired no problem much to my surprise

unfortunately it will be the weekend before i can have a decent look at it

So buy a new battery and ensure all wiring/terminals are good.

Quite happily buy a new battery if I knew it would solve the problem, since my last post where it was a nightmare to start it's started every time since.
