Clutch Very Low bite point !
I've had an issue with the cossie clutch (6 paddle) bite point virtually being on the floor (pedal fully depressed). The cable is new.
It's been like this for a while so I decided to take the clutch pedal/adjuster out and check it over, all looked in great condition and working so cleaned it up and refitted.
Well now I can't get a gear at all !!
Won't go into forward gears, and slowerly moving into reverse you can hear the gears turning.
What could be causing this?
Lack of disengagement I think.
thanks

PassionFord Post Whore!!
That was how mine was with a 6 paddle clutch before I got the hydraulic conversion done, I got so fed up with it ,the car was almost undriveable. Transformed now , so much better with the hydraulic conversion.

If it has got worse from just removing the pedal and ratchet then it's gotta be within that ratchet as that's all you've altered, I've had a few with paddle clutches, all mine felt shit and were lower than stock but never on the floor, you just need more travel
Very long time since I've had one now but can you not just try and work more slack out by the ratchet or wedge something behind the cable gearbox end just to try it ?

Adjuster did click first time pedal was pressed.
The more I think about it and comments on here I suspect my adjuster does need to click a couple more times some how.
But is it a common thing then heavy duty pressure plates result in low bit point ?
And can this because normal pressure plate will be compressed slightly by the tension in the cable as controlled by the adjuster mechanism. However, with heavy duty pressure plate there is no compression by the normal cable tension, hence with the no pretension movement and pedal movement there is less total movement on the pressure plate !!
