Default Rs2000 mk6 sit to low?

Hi does my Rs2000 rear end sit to low? Or is the front to high? Thoughts please? I feel the front looks to high something missing? looks like the font is higher than the rear not level..... Thank you

A proper side on view would be better to gauge but yes the front does look a bit higher in some shots. Have you got a boot-build/subs etc in the boot or is it empty?

hi many thanks for your reply. No the boot is empty. I will get some more pics shortly it does look slightly odd and noticeable. I'll try and get a picture of the suspension because they may have been changed and front not. Really appreciate your advise if you dint mind helping thanks again.

Correct they arent standard shocks.
Looks like someone may have fitted an incorrect spring/shock combo which has bumped it up a few cm at the front.
Are the rears aftermarket too or ford original? if the latter, it could simply be the originals are fooked and sagging, and so the fresh fronts are making it look high but infact thats the "correct" height.

Hello, not many of these still around and it looks in a reasonable condition. I would say the front suspension has been changed so the only way now to know what's fitted is to replace the front and rear, don't go too mad on lowering it and you could consider coil overs at just over Ł300, found 17 inch wheels just a bit big but 16 was perfect, the Cosworth look ones from a Mondeo suit the car just go careful with the ET

Except they don't even come close to fitting without butchering your arches.

If he wants that style the best ones would be the 16" Mondeo "Cosworth" wheel.

Because there 8J ET25.... Standard wheels will be narrower and have a higher ET. EsCos will need stretched tyres (195?) to fit inside arch and probably arch lips rolled.

A genuine Escort wheel is 8" wide and the offset is 25.
I had 7.5" Comp MOs ET 37 iirc on my mk 6 and they barely cleared the arches.

The Mondeo wheels are the correct offset for the Escort and they are only 6.5" wide so have no clearance issues.

Forgive me my memory is not what is was and its been a while since playing with escorts but I thought the Mondeo cosworth looking wheels were 7 inch and there are 2 types, standard are ET40 ones from a ghia spec are ET35. Its the lower ET ones you require hence the need to be careful.

Thanks I was almost correct, its the RS ones to go for!!
Keeping it simple ET is how the wheel sits on the hub, low ET and the wheel comes out and fouls the arch high ET the wheel sits in and fouls the suspension get the correct ET and the wheel sits in the correct place and is safe, forget the J its not important but having an extra half inch is

As above really, Offset (ET) is where the mounting face of a wheel sits in regards to the center line of the wheel. J is just the bead profile, Most people refer to width as 7j (7" between the tyre mounting beads)

Use willtheyfit.com to compare sizes.
