Default Using iridium plugs on high BHP high boost applications.

Talking about 470bhp ish and around 20-25 psi iirc, everyone always shouts about using coppers, noticed MSD sell iridiums and also list there benifits, is all the scare mongering of tips breaking off and not being reliable just internet talk? I'm currently running around 350bhp and 15psi iirc and have no problems with the iridiums I'm currently running.

3bar of boost 978hp evo 2.9bar 838hp yb tells you look at the mapping and not the plug for tips failing off.

Thanks mark and glenn, I knew I'd get a well informed answer on here and shows how much bollocks is on the internet, people rave about sidefires and coppers, and believe iridiums are crap because their uncles brothers cats 1.8t snapped all the tips off the iridiums and ruined there engine

Myself and a couple of my friends have had iridium fail for no reason. Tips don't fall off, they just stop producing spark. They seem to be a lot more delicate than other types of plug.

Total waste of money spending that on a spark plug.

If you're going to squander it on "racing" plugs at least get the type with the more robust electrode

http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ngk-raci...k-plug-r7436-9

But I'd still say those are a waste of money too ! lol
