Seem a lot of car for the money these days, As they get older they seem cooler and not as "old man" as once were...
Xjr's and Xk's look lovely!, Even back to the days of the xj40's their kind of retro cool!
Tell your stories Guys!

I had an e reg I think it was, jag 4.2 sovereign back in the early 2000s, paid £75 for it lol, was like a British racing green with cream leather if I remember correctly. Couldn't afford the petrol so sold it to my mates dad for £150 lol

Some years ago (15 ish) we had a 3.6 xj40 sovereign. Had problems with the gearbox which had to be rebuilt, needed new tyres which were imperial and bloody expensive and if I remember correctly were £1000 for the 4. Then took it for the m.o.t and it failed badly on rust!! use to be able to get all 4 kids on the back seat but as they were getting bigger and it was probably not safe or legal we scrapped it and bought a Land rover Discovery.
Drove it to Scotland once and found because the seats are mounted on the floor your legs go out straight and were not as comfortable as they look. Had a lovely blast along the Scottish roads trying to keep up with a Daewoo Matiz and yes whilst on the motorway it would do 30 to the gallon but on shorter journeys we were lucky to get 10

Grace, space and pace. Much better than. the new ones of today. Not. much. went wrong but rot was setting in underneath, a job for somebody else I thought. So then along comes a 2007..2.7 diesel Jag, ' a total nightmare' ( one to avoid )!

My daily is an 96 XJ6 3.2, alloys from an XK8. Luckily I don't commute because it drinks fuel...
The AJ16 engine is pretty much bombproof, and the 4 speed auto is a bit jerky but also just keeps going. It's on 190k now.

Last year I had a 2000, xjr 4litre supercharged v8. Paid £1500, did 11000 miles ran it for a year and had to get rid due to doing loads more miles now. Averaged 21mpg which I didn't think was too bad for a 375hp 2 tonne beast. Loved it and would have another, cost me nothing in bits.

yes that is the one that I fancy. I had an xj40 3.2 1992 and then an S type 2.7 diesel 2007. Yes next one has to be a petrol XJR or a Mustang if I can afford it. Meanwhile I'm enjoying life with the 1.2 Fiesta and will stick with it Jag or no Jag.
