Default manually controlling a idle control valve

Is there any way to wire a fiesta rst idle speed control valve so it can manually be turned on and off and not controlled by the ecu?

Not as simple as on and off, they open differant amounts so would be impossible to control accurately manualy

I think ISCV uses pulse width modulation to set how far it opens.

No idea on frequencies used, but one of these is cheap enough to buy and try.

Of course a better question....why on earth would you want to control it manually ?

Problem with my ecu. For some reason my omex won't send out a signal to control it, Iv been to 2 different mappers and they both said the same thing ... fault with the ecu.

The cold start isn't too bad at the minute, if I hold the rev at 2k rpm for about 30 seconds- 1 minute it'll idle fine but I think it'll be crap when it start getting colder.

I will eventually change the ecu just can afford it at the minute

Can you not assign a different output to it ? Can the ecu not use ignition timing to control idle ?

An idle valve is by no means essential on most cars.

Sounds like you just need to open the throttle a bit more and have the idle tuned properly again so it will be fine hot/cold

As Stevie says, either use a different output, or turn up the base idle and then use the ignition timing to control the idle speed.
ignition based idle control is normally used with ITB's where there is no idle valve

Tbh i know F-all when it comes to ecu mapping I'm literally just going by what Iv been told by 2 different people and was hoping there was a fix I could do myself.

The car drives perfectly when ist warm It just takes a minute to get it to idea on its own and then it runs slightly lumpy for a couple of minutes then it's spot on.

The idea of me building the car was to have a fun car that went well and I could use it as an everyday car if I wanted to

Without knowing who you are taking it to, the Omex/Gems family of ecu are very capable, but, the interfaces to setup/map are not straight forward.

It needs to go to someone with extremely good experience, this idle control can be setup using a scatter pattern on the ignition, though the pwm system is very flexible as long as Omex haven't locked it down.
