alot of us just refer to it as wastegate chatter as its a universally known term.
not alot of people know what compressor stall is, nor the affect of what is essentially a small but extremely fast moving set of fan blades chopping up the air that is coming back at it at a great rate of knots...

TBH a lot of people saying it dont know what a wastegate is either.
I find the term "wastegate chatter" extremely useful for identifying people who think they know about engines but dont, so its not a term without a purpose.

got to support karl here, there is actually wastgate chatter or bounce although it is not something you normally can hear ..if you disbelieve, how the fook can i run 26/28/30psi(chosen by me) with no boost control/pipes on my -31actuater and use exhaust pressure to open it 
now who's lookin the numpty
