I just sold my 61 plate sport van and never had a bit of bother from it
The van was standard and never mapped or that and only thing it ever needed was the usual tyres and brakes etc
Only sold it as I now have an m sport transit or would happily still have kept it

We have a few in our fleet at work and tbh they have been a good van. Its just a shame the one's at work ar rotton.
The only common things that we have done to them is egr valves and a fuel switch which stops them from hunting on idle.
Ive heard they arntthe best in fuel.

The person that bought mine had viewed a good few some even at the Ł14k mark and wouldn't even take them a test drive they were that rough
As for fuel a think they were really good a used to put Ł50 in mine a week and a was everywhere in it at the paint suppliers all the time etc my new one is a lot more greadier on fuel I'd say
Cutch was thinking about parting with his a think maybe worth asking him as his is a cracker and mega low miles to

Gibbys just trying to get me to buy a new M sport!!
I'm the same as Gibby mate, I'm getting avg 26.5 mpg. I drive mine quite hard and do some towing with it. You have to be careful with towing as the max allowable towing is very small on these. I'm overweight all the time but I have never been stopped and I heard the fine is Ł60 and they let you continue your journey? Dunno but something to bear in mind.
Mine has now got 25k miles on it and I'm getting new pads and disks on it. A bit of a pain in the bum to do as you need to split the disk from the hub sometimes using a press and possibly bearings at the same time.
Cracking vans, as Gibby says I spent a long time looking for a mint one, a lot of them a rough as the territory is obviously full of builders etc using them too so spend some time looking for one. It's worth it if you wait for a decent one, I drive mine more than the rest of my wee fleet!

I've not got the sport but the same engined 2.2 t280 as my daily and I love it, it is quite shit on fuel but I love it to drive, for a van the handling is very good I always rush to work when I'm late and back and it can corner well I tell you.
Did the brakes when I first got it took me over a day what a bastard of a job.
Think if well serviced the engines are pretty good

Out of all the vans we have at work i honestly love driving these trannys.
The front discs can be a chew o change if the bearing gets stuck in the hub. There are 5 torx bolts that hold the hub/bearing to the hub carrier. I normaly get a bar and lever between the discs and hub carrier.

transit brakes
i just had a transit for a few months-2007/o7 non sport smi high swb
it was good on fuel-85bhp though lol
too rusty up top for me[underneath solid though] so i sold it and bought a newer trafic[2012]
as far as the brakes the transits owner previous to me had all the brakes done by a local garage discs/pads/pipes was around Ł900-a nippy little bill about half the value of the van-he was told the rear brakes were the pig to remove-cant comment myself as havent done them
