Transit problems
hi there, im a little stuck
2005 transit 2.4 tddi 90 bhp DOFA engine
i went to a customers today as this van has starting playing up, hes puffing a bit of grey smoke, has a slight misfire, and the cam chain is rattling its tits off, it had some codes for fuel pump problems logged pedal sensor, but they cleared and never reappeared, the egr code keeps popping up after each scan, I am a Hgv specialist, i rarely touch small engines that are belt or chain driven (lorries are quite different), i have no problem doing this chain, but i want to be sure of this EGR issue,
the egr vacume solenoid has no vacum at all, is it meant blow or suck at idle, the pipe from the EGR itself does suck, am i right in thinking that if the pipe from the actual egr is sucking , the the EGR is stuck open, also
i need to quote the customer on labour time ive quoted 10 hours, just incase i run in to problems, has anyone any advice on book time for timing chain and guides etc.
thanks in Anticipation
