Default q plate escort should i px

H i am looking for some opinions

I may have the opportunity to px my 4x4 saph against an escort cosworth but its a q plate on a 909 shell and is ropey
im not worried about the q plate but it has no history at all

now i think im being blinded by the fact i have wanted an escort since i was about 11 and this is probably the best chance i can get one

so what do you's think stick with the saph 4x4 or cut her in and get the escort and hope it dont bite me on the ass

What condition is your Saph? You could end up spending a lot of money putting a ropey Escort Cosworth right.

Your saph looks very tidy, I wouldn't be taking any chances with the escort. The right car will come along.

To get a "ropey" Escort up to the superb condition of your Sapphire would cost you a lot of money. Stick with what you have now would be my advice.

My sentiments exactly. Although q only means there's no date of manufacture which is prob cause it's a motorsport shell. You'd have to check that escort shell right over and up on a ramp. Is it in full drive able order? That saph u have is stunning

Q plates are awesome. People get so caught up in worrying about it. Yes it's worth less when you come to sell it, but it's also cheaper to buy.

And the best thing? Emissions test? My arse, visual smoke check only. I love the Q plate on my car, makes life so much easier!

Buy on condition, not what the plastic thing on the front of it says. However, if it is ropey, you have to think carefully as it could be a money pit. That being said, if you've always wanted one and can see potential in it, there's no harm in looking. Your Saph should be worth good money and prices for these cars are going up and up.

as others have said keep your saph. You already sound unsure about the escort so unless your 100% don't make a mistake and end up regretting it as I doubt you'd find a saph in the condition yours is cheap now as prices are on the up.

a q plate would not put me off really depends on what the escos has to offer and what ropey means, as I know you have not long finished your saph, everyone I know on here that bought a escos within the last year or 2 sold it almost straight away

Not that I see anything wrong with Q plate cars, especially on escort cosies its normally on a 909 shell with nice parts fitted, but I would keep your saph, it looks to be in very good condition, and a ropey cossie is a money pit!

Is it the Q plate escos on eBay? I assume you've viewed it? I'm going to say go for it if it is what you want.

If you get the escos and you have to spend a bit on it to make look nice. If you ever sell it again will you be able to get your money back amd also sell it on.
