Fancy a MK2 Focus RS but have one small problem, we've got three children. With selling one or getting rid of the missus out of the question, can I convert the car to have three rear seat belts?
Is it possible to swap the rear bench out of a Focus ST and double buckle into the car. Or is it possible to have the original bench converted to have an extra belt?
Obviously I'll have to tell the insurance company it's been converted, and I'm guessing DVLA will have to be informed.
Cheers Paul

I done mine, got a set of ST rear seats, although any should do, you only need the main metalwork/backing of the upper squab, the part with the seat belt in, remove the cover and foam from your RS section and fit it to the donor section, you need to cut the material at the top too get the belt through but the plastic trim from the donor hides the cut. For the base I used the double buckle and just trimmed a small bit of foam from the RS seat for more clearance

You will have to tell the DVLA aswell as the V5 for an ST says 4 seats. Also, as the police use the Mk2 ST & know its a 4 seater, you may want to carry a copy on you (say a scan copy on your phone) just in case. Obviously it may not be an issue but you never know.
