With correct strapping you should be able to get close to 4 figures with normal tyres on a good set of DD rollers without too much trouble.

But speak to the dyno operator to see what experience they have on their specific rollers with however they might be strapping them down.

As mentioned if the rollers have been freshly refurbished and the grip on them is good they will shred a decent set of soft track tyres.
I also went to Dynotech engineering in Kent and has zero traction above 400hp, wheels just span out on r888’s

When i ran at srr I was using regular road tyres

Cheers Paul

Just bang on a set of normal wheels?
surely you can get a normal set of ford wheels for the run?

I remember when stu did a Dyno run and put the temp sensor in a cup of tea to show how much it would inflate the figures

i personally prefer a good hub dyno, but have no problems with a decent rolling road operated by a good honest tuner ( defo agree with the dyno is only as good as the operator)

The hub dyno i use is ran by a top guy and he certainly will gain nothing by inflating or deflating the figures

Thats why a lot rate Surrey rolling road, Charlie isnt a tuner as such so to him it doesnt matter what power your car puts out.
Ive seen lots of standard stuff run there too and all come out pretty much at stock figures

Just re-read the whole thread again, since I originally posted it I went to srr with my saff a few years ago, it done 513hp (I put regular road tyres on, Toyo T1R’s)
I also went to Abbey Motorsport on their hub dyno and it was awesome, took a while to set up, the guy down their was really informative and I could sit in my car when he ran it up explaining everything to me (think his name was Steve?)
there it done 464hp at the wheels, apparently I was told if you added around 12-15% that’d give you a rough flywheel figure which actually works out about right in my case.

I had nitrous fitted then wanted to see the difference it made, I couldn’t get in to srr so tried eurospec in Guildford, absolute waste of time, the operator looked about 12, didn’t seem to have a clue what he was doing, then ran my car up and it made a little over 400hp???? And when using the nitrous (apparently) it never really showed up or made a difference!
The operator barely spoke to me and when I was asking questions I think he was was just fobbing me off or didn’t know.
The graph even looked terrible (knowing my car was running perfect as both times before)
wouldnt recommend that place to anyone, waste of time and money.

Cheers Paul

I found 11% added to hub figures looked right when I mapped on one in Norway.

Could be more like that.

Like we know all these dynos and rolling roads are all slightly different so I take em all with a pinch of salt.

Will try and get a run on them dd rollers you use not far from you Mark (Motorworx is it?)

Cheers Paul

Yes Motorworx tell Danny I told you to book in as he doesn’t rent the dyno out for just power runs.

remember that wasn’t the power it left the dyno with you just took the most powerful run to show. Get the last power run to see the power it’s running now.

i saw you there at Devil Dave, I came and spoke to you just after your runs.
Whatever the power the car is epic mate.
And it’s untouched and exactly the same as when it did the 734hp?

Goes to show you how far out dynos can be compared to each other

I forgot to put my actual comparison in this thread, srr 840 crank hp shootout mode, same tune 812 hub power on dynapack, that's why I say roughly add 15 hp per hub connected to dynapack for any of my runs as a guide
