180mph can be hit with 490bhp well that's all mine had when it ran 183mph but ive seen cars with 540bhp run in the 179's it shows what optimum gearing can do. A 540 car will go faster than a 490 one given enough length of runway BUT in a set distance getting the gearing correct is all important.
Gearing is important.. However aero less so

650? Bit less?

I know this thread is a few years old but thought I’d update it, since this post I decided I wanted a tad more power than the 600-650 range as originally mentioned.
I’m now aiming for around the 680/700hp mark so turbo wise was gonna run a gt4088r but recently realised Garrett have now discontinued that turbo and their turbo range at present for that power isn’t that great tbh...
So we’ve decided on trying out a Precision 6266 Gen 2 turbo, they are rated at 800hp so on a middle sized exhaust housing at realistic 680/700hp ish should be achievable, I’ll get some pics up once it’s all been mounted to the new engine etc
Cheers Paul

I had a gt4094r on a 1.05 housing twin scroll on an rb27 that did 710 crank hp at just 1.6 bar which I was very impressed with
