What would be a good car to buy to use as a wedding car?
Rather cheaply, Was looking at S-class Mercedes...
Can be picked up very reasonable...

Gotta be a Rolls if you want a lot of work, an S class looks dated too quickly.

There is a place near me and they bought an old one, put some nice paint on and I see it out working a lot, it is only an Old W reg from the 70s but it looks the part, I have often thought of buying one with, ideally, a dodgy engine and then pop something modern and more reliable in.

Good point, a brand new, white e220 diesel merc could do the job on £500 or less per month lease.

i'm planning on getting some old american iron to do weddings with in a few years, the 4 door big old full size cars can be picked up for next to nothing in america, if you look hard enough you can even find 1 owner from new stuff thats always been garaged and pampered for no money, i fancy an old sixties lincoln with the suicide doors, but they are a little more.

Been said, but a Rolls is spot on.
Get a good looker, decent engine and then pop on a private plate. Keep it shiny and super clean inside and you're onto a winner.
