Sequential Gearbox
We have a Mk6 Fiesta shell with a WRC kit. It's going be Cosworth 4 wheel drive running gear and a Cosworth motor running around 500hp. We want to use a 6 speed sequential box. I've looked at the Quaife one and quiet like them as we have a Quaife 60G in another car and it's never missed a beat.
So my question is do any of you have one and what do you think?
Thanks
Nick

I run a 6 speed ffd sequential gear box. I have not used it that many times yet , but I do find it a great gear box . it was used in my old escort it was just over 600hp .the gear box is now in my mk6 fiesta its a full wrc spec car. it runs over 700hp ,we are only at the running in stage with this car.

Thanks for the info chaps.
You've confirmed what we thought and to that end the car will definitely have to have a sequential box.
We have a Mk2 escort that we put a 60G in with flat shift.
The noise it makes and the flat shift make it addictive!
If any of you know of a good 6 speed sequential to suit our project drop me a PM.
Thanks
Nick

Looked at them and the Oppliger kit

To be honest there not for me.
It may me take longer to find a good second hand one or save up for a new one but I'll be having a proper designed and built 6/7 speed sequential.
Thanks for the info.

A lot of the Ford kits seem to have very short ratios. Unless you have very low power, I really cant see how the likes of a 7 speed would be of any real benefit, or unless your power band is very narrow.
Even with fast changes you dont want to spend half the race constantly shifting gear and going nowhere.
And of course the above or Oppliger are proper designed and built
