Has anyone ran big power on a linered 205 block?

i would rather a 200 block but been offered a fresh built 205 block engine with everything attached.
Just wanted around 450bhp and was thinking if it goes pop at this level then can i liner it and carry on?
I have a 200 block engine here - needing a rebuild, turbo, injectors, etc
I have other priorities i would like to spend my money on

Will more than likely be sticking with stage3 setup for now so relatively cheap and reliable. I originaly spent a shit load on the saph when i built it 2 years ago so shouldnt need much more to put back on the road.
In the last year I have moved out, bought a golf diesel, a 3dr sierra and well on the way to reaching my deposit amount, just a tiny bit further to go. Am trying to do it with no help from my folks as i know they will be struggling when my old man retires later this year.
I have even quit as the Middlesex RSOC Treasurer as couldnt give it the time it needed due to work.
Good thing is work is super busy and im hoping they will extend my contract when its up in a few weeks or they take me on full time with the wage i asked for
Had some big client awards for a site I built for them and got loads of personal clients who need web dev work
Either way im in the best position I have ever been in so looking forward to the coming months.

Build your life before your car. The car can wait but your life cant. If you build up this 205 block to 450 you will be forced to drive it like Miss Diasy & that seems pointless. You sound as if you may be starting to take off work wise & you will have many years to build a car. Forget the I must build it now lark that way you wont achieve what you want. Ive had nearly 19 years of modded Cossies & I didn't buy a Cossie until I was 51. Life is a lot longer than you think at your age. However you cant do it the other way around build a great car then decide at 50 you need to start building for the 20 years of retirement . Its dull its boring & not what you want but few earn enough to have it both ways.

Wise words being spoken by Rod!
Although I'm not quite the fossil Rod is by now, I am old enough to lament the time and money I've wasted on cars, bikes and builds that I should have perhaps spent with loved ones, and on a solid future.
As Rod said, life is (hopefully) longer than it might seem, get your priorities right and make sure that you have a solid foundation to build on first!

Realistically I think going from what iv seen over the years being on forums and into cossies, 400hp is about the safe limit some people have had more hp and they have lasted but I wouldn't fancy it! I'm in a similar boat with my Capri, I spent a fortune building a new engine on a 205 block, but then bought a 200 block! So for now I'm going to bolt a t38 on it and hopefully it will last for a bit at around 400hp.
