Default Is a crashed saff worth 2k?

I have lost my precious sapphire after some idiot crashed into the back of me, one of the rear chassis arms is bent and it has been written off as a CAT D.

His insurance company have said I can buy the car off them for £2K and I'm wondering whether I'm likely to get more than this for the car if I sell it.

I don't have the tools or time to strip everything out so would sell it as a whole car, it has a stage 3 conversion, engine done 120K, newish turbo, good gearbox, leather interior (drivers seat torn and needs refurbing).

I need to make a decision over the weekend, any opinions????

I would say grab the offer with both hands , if you don't want to strip it your self put it straight on ebay and watch the profit fly in ,as I would guess if its a nice car it will fetch at least 4k

I no you mention no tools or time, but this is what i'd look at, depending on what the insurnce pay you out,

just needs the engine, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Sierr...item19fefd4702

then break the rest of your bits and sell off

i may be wrong as the rules might have been changed but im pretty sure they could not charge you more than 10% of what they payed you out to buy the car back from them

That would be a good option, plenty of bits off the written off car to tailor the black one to your needs!? A few mates, a hired engine hoist, take plenty of pics as you take the old bits out if your unsure... Once you'd broken the bits off the remains, you'll have a nice little earner.
Ok, it won't be the original car at the end, but next best thing!

Take it back for that no worries, if you don't fancy doing anything with it stick it on eBay spares repair, should hit 3-4k no worries
