secs, i used to get paid a LOT less than that

and 16k is about right for that job anyway you wont get a low level 1st/2nd line support job for any more than 20k.

ps if you can read and write and know how to turn a PC off and on then you're qualified

I pay more than 16K in tax a year, but then I started on 8K a year. Everybody has to start somewhere, and IT is a good place. Lots of scope......

rhys, it costs me ZERO extra to work in london (infact, i make money asi can clam expenses etc ) so that doesnt bother me.

LIVING in london is a different matter tho

and yes 16k is good for a school leaver... infact its even good for a graduate my missus left uni with a pukka degree and was started on 18.

16K was base for graduates last year and not in London mate. That work also isnt grad work for most

However, superb for a school leaver and excellent for a college leaver

sorry rhys, but i think you'll find you'll be gutted and realise you just wasted 3 years of your life

degrees dont seem to mean shit nowadays unless you're a doctor or something like that... but saying that, even then you will get piss poor money

Many reasons to take degrees though....full time work avoidance...challenge to yourself....expand your knowledge on a specified subject....
If you get a degree that relates to what you want to do...a more vocational one....then it's not wasted, imo...

nice to see you picked up on the sarci comment....

I agree 100% with Rhys....(and no, not just cos hes welsh, lol.)

If I didn't get a degree, I'd feel I hadn't done myself justice....some people get the same degree of fulfillment through other means....but for me....fulfillment will come from educating myself to the highest level (ie, masters degree and/or Phd)...nobody can take a qualification away from you....that's the beauty of it, imo
