Default ANYONE ANY GOOD WITH FIATS? (well upset) :(

I think i've just blown my Punto up
It's a 1.4 GT Turbo, i was driving along then it started missfiring, i could hardly get the revs up then all of a sudden there was smoke everywhere & the car cut out
It stsrted again but was missfiring like a bitch then it cut out again & now it wont even turn over.
Im fookin gutted was a really sweet motor till this happened & i've only had it a couple of weeks <-- real tears
Any ideas? Or anyone know where i can get another engine & just replace the fooker?

serves you right for buying a Fiat

what happened to your RST? sold it?

At least it should be fairly cheap to fix as you can buy all the engine bits from Argos

You're not wrong Lewis. I had a chinky (in my teenage years, before I knew better) and everywhere I went it sound like one of those metre measurers. You know the ones, just goes tick-tick-tick and the faster it went (all the way up to 60) the faster it ticked. Only went back to Fiat 14 times. They never found the problem. Fortunately ,y father then wrapped it round a tree.

I know this doesn't help you AJ, it just highlights how pants they really are!

Update - just went to tow the car home & i turned the key..............................
...............& fook all happened It was just clicking as if the engine was seized!
Then we started towing it home & i thought i would try & bump it in 5th so i did & it fired up
So now it fires up but sounds really tinny & i get loads of really thick white smoke instantly! Could it be the head gasket even thou i havnt lost any water & the oil & water dont seem to be mixing?

Headgasket at a guess and by the sounds of things it's hydraulicing. Which means the combustion chambers are filling with water. Water doesn't compress and hence will cause the engine to lock. This can do extensive damage though

Okay.....

Cut 2 footholes in the drives side, let the handbrake off and push....you may experience a stark speed and acceleration increase from before, but you'll get used to it after a while

Seriously though mate
Hope you can get it sorted

Whip your plugs out and see if any of them are wet to start with. Not sure beyond that without whipping the head off. Spose doing a compression test may show it as the compression would be significantly higher on the chamber that's filling with water.
