Attention PassionNissan

I've got an enormous craving for 90's turbocharged J Tin, and these are definitely tickling my fancy!

I'm already on a 300zx forum but thought I'd get some unbiased opinions considering some of you have owned all kinds of things.

I'll be after a SWB manual but I'm not dead against a 2+2, from what I've read a filter and exhaust change with a map will net anywhere from 320-380bhp, mileage isn't an issue as I'm only getting 18-20 out the Lolvo anyway!

So, have any of you had experience with them?

I'm also open to other ideas, I'll have a budget of around £5000, and have also looked at manual mk3 Supras, 3000GT's and any GTS-T Skyline as GTR's are too much.

Great car, but anything other than a starter motor is a mare of a job.

I was a Nissan tech from the early 90's and used to specialise in these.

My brothers boss has one with a load of tweeks, scary fast when it works. Saddly spends most of its life in the corner of the workshop apart

I'll definitely be finding a specialist, they're certainly a hefty engine!

Anything to keep an eye out for from your memory?

Really? Most people seem to be the opposite!

They're getting hard to come by now, especially good manuals from what I can gather.

Go for it mate, I picked my last r32 gtr up for £3500 bud, spent £1000 on it and it was a solid 450 hp, getting hard to find now though cheap.

I know of a 300 zx for sale cheap but it needs engine work

Fast car, but finding a nice example will probably be tough. Black and standard would be my choice.

My mate had a 300zx and it spent 90% of its life in bits also in the corner of the workshop. We're both mechanics and everytime we opened the bonnet we were like oh fuck this is gonna be fun :-(

new engine, turbos and gearbox, it was a car I knew of though through the forum and I knew how much money had been spent on it, a lot more than I paid for it so I took a blind punt and it paid off, massively

I had one of these about 15 years ago, a 2+2 twin turbo! Bought it with a Veilside kit which back then was the in thing!! Lovely to drive, one of the few that had zero problems with it for the 12 months that I owned it. Remember fitting a couple of HKS BOV's to it!! Came with a tweed style interior (doorcards, dash inserts) but remember replacing it with an alcantara set!! Totally impractical but so much fun to drive and sounded great!

Shorter and lighter, although minor difference. They say the swb handles better and doesn't feel as much of a GT like the 2+2.
