I phoned several companys when I wanted to send 4 wheels to a place near Manchester - Royal Mail with special type deliver worked out the cheapest in the end, insured etc aswell.

Try www.Parcel2go.com they charge Ł8.99 next day delivery (for the moment) for items that weight upto 25kg

if you dont have an account with set rates you will find the carriers will charge you anything they like, parcelfarce is prolly the cheapest for retail customers, i use ANC, they are as bad as the rest of them but i get a cheaper rate.
