Default Best method for removing rusted front bolt from Puma/Fiesta lower 'wishbone' ?

Does anyone have any advice for removing the front bolt (cylindrical bush) in order to remove the lower wishbone from a Ford Puma (similar to Fiesta / Ka). I've no problem with the large rear bush and ball joint bolts, but the front one is totally rusted and 'rounded' - though I can 'bang on' a smaller socket. Is butane heat on the bolt head / nut best way to go ? Access to the rear nut is very restricted to get a decent purchase on (presume heat will ruin the bush). Is it possible to hacksaw through the bolt either side of the bush ? (looks as if hacksawing would take hours !) Thank you for any help.

You will probably find it's a captive nut so swinging off that will be of no benefit. Quite often the bolts siezes to the inner of the bush so you might have a bit of trouble.

Try a bit of heat and some gripper sockets and if that doesn't work, air saw!

back nut wants shifting a bit, half a turn ,, then locking in place ,
plenty of wd40, then whack bolt from front, hammer your socket on, keep the wrench square plenty of height needed,
slip a bar over the end of wrench to increase force

If you cut just behind the head of the bolt with a hacksaw, approximately half way through the bolt to relieve tension on it. Then the bolt will undo easily , I had to do the same to a mk4 fiesta. Ps the nut behind is a normal nut with nylon insert so replace the bolt and nut afterwards

I would suggest seeing if you can get a big nut welded to the bolt head.

When I changed some shockingly corroded ones last year I found a set of Irwin bolt grips to be invaluable.

I paid around £20-£30 for a set of 5 or so from Machine Mart - they paid for themselves 1000 times over on the Puma alone.

quicker to just get out the powertools and saw it off. You an get the suspension bolt kits for the front axle cheap enough at most motor factors.

I hack sawed the bolts off last time I did a pair of arms. I had to bend the sub frame so the rest of the bolt would clear.
