Thumbs up Help! Engine oil filler cap.

I am trying to top up the oil on my MK2 1.8 Zetec Mondeo and I cannot get the poxy cap off!

It says on the cap "click" "click" with arrows pointing the way to turn. After this not working the handbook states twist and pull but I cannot get the thing off!!

Iam feeling like a bit of a tit at the moment but can anybody suggest anything?

Cheers all

blimey how longs it been since you last checked lol, simply twists anti clockwise, worst case is it naffed up in that case you will need some grips and maybe a new cap

You definitely un-doing it? It should click when it's done up.

If the ratchet inside the cap is broken you will need to break off the top part then get the inside bit out with pliers or something.

you undo anti-clockwise
same direction as a clock if it was going backwards

And push down when doing it, helps usually to create a bit of friction

Thanks for all your help peeps.

I was following what it said on the cap and what it says in the handbook but it was incorrect! So I tried anticlockwise and it came off a piece of piss!!!

What a donkey I feel!!!
