Default these ferriday copper gaskets, what dya reckon to em???

was goin to get a wrc style thicker h/g but i am thinking about getting one of these copper jobs, they are available thicker in order to drop c/r/ , how thick would i have to get one in order to be able to clear bd14's and would the thickness needed to do this drop the c/r far to low????
cheers

A headgasket that will outlast an engine under knock isnt a good thing.

I spoke to ferriday in regards to a copper gasket, i found out that u need to have the block skimmed to make it flat before u use the gasket and its only really viable at big power (400+BHP)

They were really helpful, telling me the pros and cons of it and helped me make an informed choice not to buy one.

If u r in any doubt, phone them up and ask them the questions, they are more than willing to help

A head gasket can act as a fuse, it can blow if something is wrong. Moderate Knock/Detonation can eat through a HG, and atleast the driver will know about it sooner rather than later from the BHG symptoms.

As Dave McB said, call Mike up on 01785 621710 and ask him direct he won't ush you just answer all the questions you've just asked and give you advice. They are the only gaskets to have worked reliably on Danny's 11-sec Saff and Mick Rogers' 10-sec Cortina Cossie...

You need a 1mm cutout for 14's...the thickest cometic is .57mm squashed..so youd need near enuff a 2mm gasket i'd guess,thats thick
