Default new car thats not a fiesta?

ok, so every fiesta i've seen that i want is either a million miles away of being sold by some sort of cunt on ebay/gumtree/autotrader so i'm going to fuck that idea right out of the window for the time being

what else can i get thats economical and easy to fix if it goes wrong?

mk5 golf?

audi a3?

etc?

just need it as a second car to get to work and back now rather than as a replacement for the fiesta as i'm probably going to spend money on it to get it through the mot next month

Hey,

I just got a lovely new BMW 3Series m sport 07 plate, got to say lovely car.
They run so smooth on the roads and everyone knows bmw engines are hard to break!
I recommend something along them lines. They look lovely and stylish too.

Thanks

something that only needs an oil and filter service once every few years would do me if i'm honest

just need a car i can jump into, drive without worrying that i've got to park it across 2 bays to stop people banging the doors, etc

work is 30 minutes away on average and 10 miles so it would be doing probably 150 miles some weeks and currently the fiesta uses Ł20 and the mondeo uses Ł50

We have had a mk1.5 focus for 2 years. Its got 115k on it now and its still sweet as a nut. The only thing ive done to it is a timing belt 2 rear wheels bearings and discs and pads.

We have a Mk5 08 plate Golf 1.9 TD as a spare car and its great, we did buy it very cheap with a thrown rod though but since I fixed it I have no complaints. I guess you have a budget to work to though?

i had around Ł2500 max to buy a decent mk6.5 facelifted fiesta but now i'm spreading the net a little wider

and i've spent the money on other things so the budget might need to come down too

Got a Pug 307SW as my daily, 50mpg and had no issues bar it throwing a spring. Everything else is sweet and altough its not fun being a 1.6 90bhp diesel it gets me where i need to go and everything thrown in (insurance, petrol MOT etc.) its about Ł100 a month to run. My insurance is Ł16.80 a month. I was against getting it but it cost me Ł400 with a suspect blown engine from the company i work for and it ended up being turbo seals. Got it with 80k on it and i've done 125k now and its been excellent. Wouldnt normally recommend a french car but for a car you can have and not worry about its perfect.
