Default E39 530D

Hi,

Has anyone had much experience of these cars? i quite fancy one but not sure if they have any issues?

I know most people go for the newer shape but i like the older one in black with the parallel alloys

Thanks

Nick

Some things to note:
Car is awesome loads of toys
Performance is amazing for the size
Mpg is poor on auto round town
Black on black facelift models are hard to find esp. With the 18 parallels

Top motors have'nt heard of any horror stories. Make it's got full service history etc and you should be fine.

That's spot on, mine has had all the above sorted. Suspension is all aluminium so drives brilliantly but it is common to replace drop links, rear arms and bushes, weighing 1800kg they do chew through them

I'm selling one aswell

Black facelift on parallels.
530d auto. 147k. In really good nick apart from small rear on drivers seat.

Cat d in 2011 due to cracked front bumper

I'd take 1900 for it which is very cheap for a black msport.

Great cars, you won't be disappointed, surprisingly good on fuel for a big car

E39 is a classic shape isn't it! I like the 530i petrol sports too, really nice styling even down to the look of the beefy tailpipe. Imola red is a cracking colour on the sport IMO. I nice E39 M5 is gonna be worth a mint in the future.

What's the realistic mileage for one of these per tank? Say half motorway and half town?

Thanks

already on there way up, only a few years ago there seem to be quite a few around the 4 / 5k mark, now its seems you need 2-3k more just to get a odd interior spec'd high mile one!

Round town you get around 26-7 mpg and 42-5 mpg on the motorway.

Tanks big (£90+) and I got to lemans and back approx 800 miles, on 1.5 tanks a couple weeks back
