closed loop will pay for itself in no time i remember the difference when i went from generic chips upto a live map by msd and the cruise fueling was massively better, any engine needs either mapping or closed loop control its 2014 peeps not 1988 anymore, the old generic off the shelf chips should be left in the history books now along with t4s and 8 greens lol

Surely you should be running Shell V power or tesco 99ron?

Your car would have to completely out of tune and running like a bag of shit to get damage through bore wash. I have never heard of it happening and would like to think that the majority of Cosworth owners would notice there was a major problem and get it sorted before it could do any damage?

you can temporary change the map from -5 to +5% if there are no errors or fpr problems and mail the data to stu

Every time you use your car in bad tune will add issues to engine wear thus is why i posted it

Mine can just about do Silverstone or pod and back on a tank. About 300 miles. But that's a 12v v6 twin turbo. Trev can do a tankfull either way though, but he does drive slightly faster than me.lol

I'm lucky to get 200 miles from a tank out of my onion, and that's driving steady, but it's my toy and can't help having the pedal stuck to the floor! Wouldn't have it any other way

It's been heavy on fuel for a while , I've never had more than 250 miles to a full tank , it uses that from Cheshire to silverstone and back

Other than using a spread sheet like dojj there is only one way to work it out and it means filling up twice.

Start with a full tank and reset your trip meter. Drive as much as you want on that tank then refill, obviously the more of the tank you use will give you a better average.

When you refill you will then know exactly how many litres used to how many miles you have done. Convert to gallons by dividing litres used by 4.54. Mpg is then milage divided by gallons. Simlpes.

I do this every tank on my daily as I always fill up and its interesting to see how different roads/driving affects it.

When people say 'I've done xx miles to £xx fuel, whats the mpg' you cant really tell as you have no idea how much was in the tank before or after other than where the gauge is pointing which is hardly that accurate?

You didn't use a full tank, you just had your tank drained by pikeys in Swindon!
