Default engine conversion

Hi guys I'm new to the page and this is my first post. I have recently been given a x reg fiesta 1.25 zetec and was thinking about doing an engine conversion in it so I can have it as a track car. I know the 1.7 puma engines go in with little work but I am looking for something with a little more power possibly something turbo charged I want to achive around 200-250 bhp I am doing the car on abit of a budget but I don't mind forking out up to £1000 for the engine I can deal with a little bit of welding and fabrication to make it fit. Has anyone got any recommendations on what I could go for or what has been done in the past? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you wanna zetec turbo it your gonna have to increase your budget somewhat, your gonna need new management and all the other parts to make it work.

I'm more than confident of doing the work myself being a qualified engineer I don't think it's going to be too much of a big job for me

Do they even sell forged pistons for that engine with a suitable compression ratio?

The 2.0 zetec is usually looked upon as a easier starting point.

Tight but will fit (in the process of doing one myself) if u use a 1.3 endura gear box you can keep the same gearbox mounts and driveshafts and will only need to make a mount for the drivers side

Lms sell a turbo kit on decomp plate for £2000 posted or £3500 fitted and mapped. On forged I think its an extra £1300 in parts.

the 2k kit gives you around 200bhp and 200lb/ft.

Which with the 2k kit you would need to also get it mapped and fit it all your self.
