Default Renault 5 Turbo 2

On the bay. Rare car but £21k sounds strong money when it needs fixing too - would still love one.

I've seen them go for 30k plus awesome car, one of my favourites shame they don't make cars like that any more.

My mate built a Renault 5 Maxi, after scouring the world pretty much for parts, he had it finished immaculately and has had an agreed value on it for insurance of 100k!

One of the first road going turbocharged sports saloons that punched way above its weight. They made awsome rally cars and saloon car racers. The one on e-bay seems like a good example and due to their rarity now the price is probably right.

I believe that the Gordini was the original 5 turbo, actually released before the mk1 Golf GTi. It was quicker too.

Thanks for the history lesson but I know about these my comment that it seemed strong money was because it needs fixing and I'd assume a lot of the parts are either made of unobtanium, have a tax associaciated that would make anything RS500 seem halfway reasonable or both......

I'd still like one (as I said initially!) and have followed both a standard model out of the Renault world series at Donnington and seen Jean Ragnotti smash the granny out of the full works one at Goodwood.

Tell us more Mark, was it recently ? was it standard or track car ? why was it an anti-climax?

I guess it was a disappointment because a modern diesel will probably show it a clean pair of heals.

But when it was new I'm sure it was in a class of its own.

Lots of bids on this one, hope it finds a good home

It was a stock car and from what I am used to really slowbut asking it to feel fast from a old 1.4lt engine is asking a lot
I would have one in my list of cool cars.

very cool car

Retro & limited edition cars are going up in price rapidly; ive got a e30 318is with low'ish miles in my mums garage. Already turned down 3k for it, not bad for a £325 investment!
