Default escort mk3 advise needed with engine swap

hi there all.

so i want to remove my 1.4cvh engine off my escort mk3 5door (engine sucks) but i don't know what engine to exchange, or what donor to get. what i want from the car is more power, so ive been thinking about st170, 1.8 zetec, 2.0 zetec but i dont know. i would have gone for the rs turbo but those are hard to find where i am at.

for now i just want to exchange the engine later on will be ading a turbo ect, unless any one know where i can get a complete turbo engine setup.

any ideas on what would be the easiest yet best option please.

thank guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of the above, I would say the 1.8 zetec would be the simplest, as from what ive read you need to use some of the parts from a 1.8 to fit the 2.0

I would of thought so, then if at a later date you decide to go 2.0 than you already have the parts to make it fit

If I remember rightly only one of the mounts needs modding and you can use the 1.6 gearbox but would need that confirming

.

Zetec's from a mondeo 1.8 or 2.0 will need the sump, oil pick up and multi grove belt wheel off a 1.8 Escort or fiesta as the sump bowl is net to the gear box on the mondeo.

Piss easy conversion thought, best off with a 2.0 Mondeo but get a complete car as it'll make it easier with the management and wiring etc

Don't need any 1.8 parts if you use a 2.0 blacktop.
