life span of braided fuel line ?
Ok I changed my car too braided about a year ago . Bare in mine the car hasn't turned a wheel so far as it's still undergoing a resto. I came to turn it over after about 5 months of non running whilst I rebuilt a few bits , and the pipe from front too back has broke down and the fuel pissed out like a garden sprinkler. I'm really quite fucked off about this as u can imagine . It's from a very reputable company well know and as yet after several messages i've yet too get a response from them so I won't name them. It's the non lined pipe as I already had a few fittings at the time from other projects so it made sense at the time. What's the expected life of lined and non lined . ? .cheers Al

What sort of braided line, what sort of fittings, where they installed correctly, what fuel ?
Unless you've chosen wrong for the fuel you're using or installed them wrong...well, that's about the only two realistic answers really.
Even cheap chinese stuff would last longer than that

Steve it's from a well known online shop using there fittings as per the way you would install any AN fitting that isn't ptfe lined. It's been fired up on pump grade Ron 98 . I can't see that I've done anything wrong . It's leaking mid section like a sprinkler so I can't even attribute it too the fittings .As of yet the shop haven't deemed my email worth answering even though I've spend a large amount with them on fittings and various pipes and weld on items.

So it's nitrile rubber hose, and you've used the correct fittings ?
The hose can be difficult to push into the outer clamp far enough before installation onto the main body, so there could be room for error there
Either way that style is re-usable. But without taking them apart and inspecting, impossible to say here.
But some people also use that style hose with normal hosetails and hose clamps which could leave room for error
And when you say mid section...do you mean in the middle of a hose run, nowhere near an actual clamp ?
If so, that absolutely should not happen.

Ive had Earls rubber hoses on my car for 9 years or so. Never a single problem.
Although would never use any type of braided hose unless it was essential, and if so that would almost force teflon.
Cant see any actual reason to use rubber/stainless hose. Either way, it shouldnt leak !

Yeah , It's the nitrile overbraide stainless stuff , Using the correct reusable AN style fittings for the non teflon pipe work Yeah he feed and return pipes are both gushing out along the floor pan well away from the fittings .

There must be a problem with iver the hose it's self or the way you have put it togther. Even the rubber stuff should last many many years if it's all put togther right maybe you have hose not suitable for fuel?

Ben i kinda stepped back and didn't do a lot on it last year as I really wasn't enjoying it I thought getting it running would spur me on to finish it but it didn't . Then is problem with e fuel lines has fucked me of royally .
James as I say it's mid way though the run of pipe that it's perished so at least 3 foot from any fittings so I can't see that it's anything I've done. I've used lined and non lined fittings before and am familiar with the way they work and haven't had any problems before. The car was run on pump grade Ron 98 . The only thing I can think is the company have sent out not what I ordered but I couldn't say .
