The hose can be difficult to push into the outer clamp far enough before installation onto the main body, so there could be room for error there

Either way that style is re-usable. But without taking them apart and inspecting, impossible to say here.

But some people also use that style hose with normal hosetails and hose clamps which could leave room for error

And when you say mid section...do you mean in the middle of a hose run, nowhere near an actual clamp ?

If so, that absolutely should not happen.
