Default FAO Tiff PF Plumber.......

Todays subject is Scale Inhibitors......

Salamander SESI Electrolytic Scale Inhibitor. Is that the best one??

Best price so far is £45.90+VAT. That sound reasonable??

Also, should I be fitting this directly before the Boiler?? Alot of the literature I have read suggests fitting it where the Mains water enters the property. Trouble is, I cant really get to that now as its behind the Kitchen units.

I reckon I have decided to go for 22mm Pipe for both the Cold Water Inlet and the DHW Outlet. The guy that is commisioning the Boiler suggested that 22mm is needed between the Boiler and the Bath to ensure good flow. I will probably then do the rest of the Hot Water system in 15mm. The only thing I wondered is regarding the Shower. Would 22mm be overkill for that?? We went for the Turbomax Plus 837e because we wanted a GOOD shower.

I know you suggested that the difference between 15mm and 22mm would be hardly noticeable for Cold Water Inlet, but its not much more agro for me to use 22mm, so I may aswell, right??

I do appreciate your advice. AGAIN!!

what are you two going on about !!!!!!!

just use 15mm it will be fine and give a constant flow rather than a sudden surge flowed by the constant flow.

You mean 15mm for the Shower?? Or the Cold Water Inlet on the Boiler?

It will be fine with 15mm to the boiler. If you want to put 22mm to the bath then you can but to be honest, it will still be fine with 15mm

The only thing I am having trouble getting my head round is how a Boiler can benefit from 22mm Pipe for the DHW Outlet, when it only has 15mm Cold Water Inlet.

You say 15mm will be fine for DHW, you sure that will allow us to get the maximum benefit from our 16 litres per min DHW Flow??

If the DHW connection on the boiler is 15mm then i would say that is the flow results from the factory when tested on 15mm pipe.

15mm Mains to the boiler will be fine as it is under at least 5 bar pressure on the incoming main

Thats good news now I have done a Monster chase in my Bathroom wall big enough to take two 22mm Pipes with room to spare.

It took me hours to do and hours to clear the dust/mess up.
