I have a feeling this was for sale when i was looking for mine a few years back by the previous owner for early 30s and after a few calls i went for mine instead,35k dosn't seem to strong money for this maybe the fact it's been up for sale so long is putting people off.

Collectors come with various budgets mate

people always class collectors as very rich folk and thats not true

I class myself as a small time collector and i buy on condition condition condition , I dont get all giddy over low miles cars , as most of these megga low miles cars drop to bits when you drive them as everything has perrished

mid miles cars in VGC with good history are the best sellers

When you've got something for sale thats rare like that, you can probably put it up for whatever price you want within reason.
Someone somewhere will be willing to pay that if they want it bad enough i bet.

i agree paul,their are varying budgets but for between 5 and 10k more you could get a car with near half the mileage .

personally the first thing that attracts me to a car is the mileage ,and if i was in the market for a 500 i wouldnt go look at that particular as the mileage would get to me

unless it was closer to 30k

you would be very shocked at some of the very low miles cars i have seen , they sure dont look like low miles cars as SOME have just sat and been neglected , There are some stunners for sure , but also some very low miles dogs

On the flip side there are some totaly stunning mid miles cars that look like low miles cars

Its all dependant on how they have been stored / maintained etc

I tell everyone the same thing , its condition , condition , condition

Some of the very high value 500s arnt the lowest miles cars

i am in no way doubting what youi are saying mate ,and if i were in the market for a 500 i would ask your advice without question ,by phone of course

if you say its worrth 33k ,is that a trade or retail value you are putting on it paul.

its just a very personal thing with me regarding mileage ,i can always restore /rebuild back to a1 condition over time .i cant get tha mileage back ,unless i clock it of course

you do surprise me though saying that some of the greatest value 500,s arent the lowest mileage ones

Just out of interest why were you trying to buy this car anyway, surely being the registrar you have access to more and better examples out there for the money this is commanding?

I wanted it as thought it was well priced

This proves that being a registrar gives no advantage to buying cars ( if your doing your job correctly and have the owners best interests at heart )

And i always do whats right for the owners

No worries I wasn't 'dissing' the car or trying to be funny, it just seemed kind of average as far as 500's go and you being the registrar I thought you would only go for super low miles cars with distinctive history. You have a fair collection already so it must be difficult to keep finding better cars than the ones you have!
