Power steering rack without fluid
Is it possible to run. P/s rack in a Cossie without fluid , pressure it's not a lubricant and only a means of push/pulling rack.
Heavy steering at slow speeds ain't an issue btw 💅

Looks like you win the cherry Marc , so it's a left hooker and 2wd , what's the difference on the 4x4 rack and can it me made fit , it's a track car and will have MODIFIED front end any as the car gets developed ....

the 2wd rack bolts in from the rear, the 4wd rack bolts in from the front so even though you can put them into the holes, it fucks the geometry up as the rack is in the wrong place
plus you'd need to figure out which intermediate shaft to use as one will be too long and one will be too short

Just did a little checking ov rift forums and they say the std non ps rack in lhd has more lock than the cosworth ps one ,
I was getting a lhd cos one for the quickish rack but can also get a quaife or buron quick rack kit for my existing lhd std non ps rack??.

Better with std rack so with quick internals fitted , only issue then may be dim running gap et33 8x17 comps.....lol
I'll have more lock but wheels will contact !!!

a standard base model mk1 sierra rack has a better lock then either and can be got from certain places for around Ł30-110 new depending on where your looking, also why do people just assume 4x4 and 2wd racks are the same and say they will fit when they dont? i see loads of threads like this when people dont actually know and will say it fits without knowing, things like this cost people money you know...........

Do you have a lhd 2wd cossie rack? As I am looking for one and in a bit of a hurry too!
For drifting a normal sierra pas rack is better. You can give it even more lock by using the 4x4 steering arms. Combining 2wd cossie suspensoin with a standard sierra rack also increases the lock.
