Default cat c ,mot test

hi guys I am looking at buying a cat c 2006 mondeo ghia tdci the car has a fist size dent on the rear and 2 on the roof ,what i need to know is will the car need to be retested it comes with 10 months and the garage has been and got a duplicate today ,i dont want to buy it then have to retest as well as the vic check any help would be most gratfull

I'd assume that as long as it passes the VIC check, that means its identity is ok, meaning the MOT is for that car - its still in date so will still be valid imo. I'd give the DVLA/VOSA a quick bell to clarify though.

Some insurance companies ask for it to be re-mot'ed but its not the law by any stretch of the imagination.
I've taxed cat c cars using their original mot's and without them being VIC checked as well with no issues whatsoever.

re mot .everthing is void as soon as the car has a cat c put on it .dont forget vic as well

Incorrect,car does not require a new mot.

Also just because a car is cat c,it does not always require a VIC check,no commercial vehicle requires a VIC check its a VEHICLE IDENTITY CHECK and the condition of the car or quality of the repair is NOT checked thourougly.

A number of people have been corrected about this myth before on this very website.
