They are deffo going up, I think classic cars in general have rocketed up, and I think its with the way things are with the economy in this country a lot of people are turning to classic cars for investment as it seems to be the most secure way at the minute, looked in classic and sports car magazine at the auctions to see what stuff were going for, 2 3 doors sold at auction, one was for £25k, the other went for £28k, pushes the cars out of the price range of the "regular" enthusiast I'm afraid but I guess that's the way things go.

The true enthusiasts like myself would gladly pay £40k for a Sierra rs500, I know I would, it's finding the £40k is the problem! More than I earn in one year.:-(
Daz, is 003 the white d plate one u had for years? If so never thought u would sell that!

I am sad to say that this alone is pushing up prices as collectors are willing to pay big money to own the cars

The 2 nice rs500s for sale on pistonheads at the mo , one at 40k and one at 44k are both my old cars that i had to sell to buy my new house only 4 months ago
Both great cars and would make any owner proud

The problems are that your average man cant understand 40k plus for an old sierra and oftern rant and rave that there overpriced and not worth it , this is exactly the oposite opinion of the serious car collector and hence why most dont get advertised as collectors like buying behind the scenes and they like cars that arnt advertised

There are a lot of dealers jumping on the band wagon now buying and selling rs500s for big bucks ,
100% agree paul, but its a bit like house prices going up .who actually gains from it i wonder .your spot on with the car dealers jumping on the bandwagon but its understandable as their in the business of making money that supports jobs etc .its when they waffle on when you know their chatting shit

its a case of having to invest in something for the rich folk as the interest rate the banks are giving them wouldnt pay for lunch at the ritz at the minute mate
