Cleaning metal filings out of an intercooler????

I've had a load of work done on my chargecooler and there's loads of metal filings inside it now.
I cut the end tanks off and grinder off the faces so they were clean/flat to have new ends welded on and also drilled a bleed hole in the water circuit.
Now I need to clean it out to refit it.
I tried washing it with parts wash, nothing. I've got a cleaner that goes on an airline and let's you fill it with brake fluid cleaner then fire air through it at 3bar, that helped but wasn't enough.
What can I do to clean it all out?
I've spoken to a local firm that make intercoolers/radiators....
They will steam clean it for me but don't guarantee to get it all out. And it's £60.
What else can I do?
Any others ways of cleaning it???

Cut it back open and clean it properly, not worth the risk.

I did clean it all the best I could before having anything do to it but I don't trust that it's not got anything still left in it or since.

Pay the local company £60 to pressure wash it out and then check it after.

Have patience.
Fill with warm soapy water and flush. Repeat until done.
Power washer wont do shit, as you'd only be blasting the same small area you can reach with the hose

The guy who welded it for me said the same. And he makes them.

Can you not just connect a hose onto one end and let it run through for while.
Maybe take hose off and put it on the other side as to alternate the direction of flow.

it's just a case of keep doing it until nothing more comes out

If its just a charge cooler could you maybe fit a little in line filter for a bit in order to catch any debris maybe an old style fuel filter. ( little clear plastic one with yellow filter)

THROW IT AWAY is my advice !!!
I done exactly the same with my old xr2 turbo grs cooler, flushed it till it was like new then when mapping it to 2.5bar boost it blew a load of swarf into the inlet and into the head and fucked the whole engine costing me 3k+
That why I recently sold my pro alloy cooler and had a custom 1 made rather than cutting it risking swarf etc getting into the core, most expensive mistake I've made with my cars! Never again

Spend some time letting it soak in a decent detergent that will losen the swarf, then fill it with water n slop it around abit, id do this 3/4 times then let a hose run thru it whilst moving it about.
Ultimately its a big risk using it, so i'd be anal with cleaning it out.
