Default Super car experience days, any recommendations

Or places to avoid?

It wants to be somewhere in the Warwickshire/west midlands area, i dont want to travel half the country to get there

Also whats best to go for, a mate said he went on one where he could drive 2-3 different cars over 1-2 laps each, then i saw one where you pick one car out of 6 then do 6 laps in that one car..............

I heard people on here saying that some places spends hours briefing and 2minutes behind the wheel....... obviously id want to avoid places like that.

Any recommendations guys and girls?

Thanks

if its a present then you've got to go, but if your paying out your own pocket i'd save not to bother, ive been on a few and each time i'm disappointed

go for the single seaters at silverstone, now that was a good driving experience, 10x better than driving a supercar

iv only watched them on youtube and they annoy the hell out of me. they seem to make you change gear early, brake early, fall asleep early.

for me id rather drive a boring road car around a track because you can go as fast as you like.

but if you love supercars then maybe for you it will be a great experiance.

They aren't a real experience for a keen driver. They are to say "I've driven a Lambo quite quickly for ten minutes". I would also say go for the Silverstone Single Seater. You can go as quickly as you like. Get the experience, not the thrill though as it's twice as long - 20 mins behind a pace car and then 20 mins as fast as you can. If you really want the Supercar one though then there's one at the old Prodrive track just by Chadwick End., ran by Everyman/Driver's Dream Days and they let you go quite quickly. If you look on my Youtube channel, I have the Silverstone one and my Nissan GTR one was by Everyman but held at Loughborough.

i'd go for a rally experience rather than supercar, everyone I've spoken to said they capped the revs and were quite draconian regarding keeping speed down on the supercar days.

I've just done one at the Porsche experience centre at Silverstone, that was good. Theres quite a few packages as well so lots of choice.

What's the point of doing one if they cap revs and speed, surely it should be go and fast as you like on the straights but just make sure you brake when told to?

Having said that it would still be a big excitement if your used to driving 1.6/1.8/2.0 road cars?

Thanks for the YouTube links madgit, looks like loads of fun that

I did prestwold hall in leicestershire. I did the lambo / gtr one.

It was quite good just wish it was longer 5 laps isnt enough but they let me proper go for it. The gtrs are frightening. I got into silly speeds down the main straight. The lambos they made me look after a bit though but again 5 laps isnt enough

They assessed my driving in a mini 1st so as long as you do well there you will have no worries in the supercar

I went to an 'everyman driving experience' at the prodrive test track, it was a present,I picked a lambo Gallardo, it wasn't restricted i pretty much went flat out when I could but by the time you are used to the car,its all over! It was a experience but would i pay to do it again?? No!

i did the same first time around and this year i drove the Ferarri 458. the track is nice and wide for overtaking at speeds. Avoid the mira one as its a single lane type track although they tend to get porsche/ferarri/aston martin race cars available to drive.

the GTR is a beast to drive. remember that you are in a higher gear when they tell you to floor it so if your good and they feel confident they will let you drop down a gear - good times

I've done several through work - All the 'supercar experience' ones were disappointing, with limited seat time. By far the best one is at the Bedford Autodrome. Loads of driving and great cars. http://www.palmersport.com/

Would you be better hiring a super car for a weekend? Or is there more hassle than they make out with those things (like becoming a member of club etc?) Was thinking about something like this for my dad one day.

Glad Prestwold Hall sounds good as I'm going on the 5th November to drive a Ferrari, Lambo, Evo, Subaru and N-Class rally car. Can't wait!

I did a Nissan GTR vs Single Seater at the Prestwold Hall, will upload my video to Youtube now if i can, loved the GTR but the single seater was crap! Had to follow an instructor and couldn't overtake the other people which was dissapointing really..

Would do the GTR again though, but maybe change the other to the 458 Italia or MP4-12C...

Will try do the video now
