How do I contact the current owner of a car?
Hi all,
after a talk with my dad tonight, I want to try and buy his old metro rally car, and since I have one of his old rally cars, I want the other
It says it was last taxed in 2001, and it is still showing up on the dvla database, so I want to know if the owner still has the shell or what happened to it in the end, as it was a fully prepared rally car.
What's the best way to try and get in contact with the owner?
Can I ask the dvla for a house address to get in contact with him?
Not sure what too do though, any ideas?

Doubt it, going to join other forums to see if anyone off them knew someone who bought the car.
And has anyone asked them to pass on a letter before?

Well if I get this, it'll be my last for a long time haha, and the sierras fine, sat under a cover awaiting the mini to be finished, and my welding and fabrication skills to be high enough to re attempt to restore it.
On the V888 form, it says you can request information about an abandoned behicle, and it gives the current owners information about the car. Is this acceptable to use, as I have reason to believe he might still have it, so could I use this form?

One thinks you may need to go the replica route, have you tried the rally forum? You might have more luck there.

No, I doubt they will know what happened to it, it was bought by a mini owner, so probably stripped it for its engine. But if the guy just dumped the shell in his gare id be pretty happy to be honest! And I suspect a rep with a cherished plate might be neccisary
