Default Using clay for 1st time! Any advise!

Just got a clay kit auto glym,
Never used this before but watched some vids off YouTube, so now I'm an expert lol
Planning to:
Wash the car
Clay the car
T-cut the car
Polish the car

Haven't got any polish yet so anyone recommend some?
I have a machine polisher to use but not the angle grinder type, it's the round 2 handle type that don't spin as fast as angle grinder, with the elasticated sock type thingys,
Any advise on type of elasticated thingys to use?
Wooly, sponge or fluffy buffer type??
Any advise gratefully received as like a nice shiny motor for ford fair
Cheers

once flayed, wash car agian. and allways keep the paint work well spayed or wet where you are using the clay

t-cut I'd throw that in the bin and buy something better, that won't dmage your paint!

I like stuff from menzerna like power finish. or meguiars mirror glaze

I did mine for the first time a little while ago and used the Meguires clay kit.
Used loads of detailing mist, then Meguires wax, then autoglym polish.

Use plenty of lube as already said,if clay is dropped on floor its straight in bin as it will be full of grit dirt etc, rewash and dry car, then use the Super Resin Polish supplied in the kit, then get yourself a wax or sealant to complete job.Ive used this Auto Glym kit and it did great job on my Saph.

If the car is really contaminated it might take you a bit longer to do.When we bought our focus it looked a clean car until I clay barred it. It took me 3 goes on the roof and 4 on the bonnet to get the dirt out of the paint.

Just got bigger bottle of autoglym polish for after claying then il get some wax sealent
Just see some in halfords both autoglym spray one for £14:99 or cream one for £44:99 I take it the cream one is 10 x better?

So I've washed her,
Clayed her,
Polished her,
All with autoglym gear
Now came to polishing her today, the mrs is moaning about me being on car so I decided to get the quicker wax spray from autoglym,
Followed instructions and now she's nearly as flat as when I started!
Machine polisher decided to have the weekend off so good ol bit of elbow grease with cloth all round,
But still doesn't look as shiny as yesterday after the polish??

Before.

Top job!

Spray wax is shite!

Spray car off

wash car

Rinse Car

Clay the car (no need to dry car off between rinsing & claying as you need the paint to remain wet)

polish car

Wax car

Autoglym stuff is good, I use Meguires clay kit, Autoglym SRP & Autoglym HD Wax

get great results

Keep the wax layer topped up once per month/or every 2 months and the finish will be protected

Do a deep clean including a clay stage twice per year

That's tip top shiny mate!
Will invest in some decent wax I'm thinking!
I used to use Merr on my electric blue Scorpio could wash car and windows with it then polish it with it too
Water used to fly off it with little hard braking!

Dodo juice do some good waxes, it can look expensive when you see whats a fairly small tub for like 40odd quid, but you only ever use small amounts, and only 3 or 4 times a year, so it actually lasts and lasts.

Agree mate, I use it and it lasts ages, but I do top it up every couple of months, could be my car cleaning OCD though
