Default Cossies: How much when they new?

Was just wondering as I walked home from the chippy, how much were the 3 doors, the saffs and the Escos when they were brand new and in the show rooms?

3drs were approx £16k new.

Sapphire 2wds ended up at £20ish.

4x4s were £24k (and briefly £28k)

Escorts ended up being £28k...

My 1991 Saphire 4x4 still has its original bill of sale, including its extras the original owner paid a whopping

£28,400. !!!!

And I've got it advertised in the for sale section on this forum for only £4,500

Hmm interesting.... 3drs and Escos's seem to go for around half their brand new retail price but Saffs can be picked up for a quarter of their value easily. Why is that then? Did they make a huge number more Saffs than they did the other Cossie's?

Was there a price difference between small turbo Escos and Big turbo, and was their a difference between the regular 3dr and the RS500?

Read my post, I said they ENDED up being £28k when they announced production was ending . My car was bought for £28k SECOND HAND with 9k on the clock .

Sapphire 4x4s went from £24k to £28k, then back to £24k .

Most expensive Cosworth out the show room was the Rouse sport sapps 30 to 33k

Could see why they never sold 100 models 33k for a saff

NOW

Compair the prices of,lets take the 3DR, To a 3 bedroom house back in 1986

3DR=£16,000

3 Bedroom house in VERY nice area=£20,000

Look even more expensive now

That would be like buying a £200,000 car nowadays

Price for a new 1991 4x4 was £47k In denmark.

As for used.
Its very rare to find saph's under £10k
Escorts are priced at around 20k +
You guys have it cheap...
