Default Incident at Classic Ford - Any witnesses?

Hi folks. I'm after a bit of help.

For those people that where at classic ford, my car was hit by a clubs banner/flag that the wind picked up and blew over to my car.

I was parked (mk1 focus rs)in the far corner of the Tarmac area right next to the grass area where there were a few stands on the grass.

So now I have a big dint in the bonnet and I want to see if I can find out where it came from, and if anyone saw it happen.

Only car that was nearby that stands out in my head was an aubergene Escos on azev's but had space saver on n/s/r

Any help be appreciated

Andy

there has been a large amount of press given to PLI on the rsoc, and the way it read was any paid up member of that club on a group stand is covered, also a great idea posted above by Wes was to look through all the pics from classic ford as you may well spot the offending item on a stand in the pics, also contact future publishing for a layout map of the club stands on the day as it will help with layout and who was in your area, I'm guessing you must have been at bottom of display area near where the drifting used to be as they opened up the grass area this year to clubs as the tarmac was full

correct me if im wrong but arnt PLI 3 party cover ?

So uless the stand that caused the damaged was an RSOC stand then he cant claim from the RSOC PLI

He will need to claim from the club who caused the damaged

If it was an RSOC stand then he will be fine

Hope it gets sorted ok for you Andy

your right paul of course and in a ideal world the offending club should have put their hands up to cover repair costs, On PFs cover exibitors are covered regardless of blame so if damage is caused by our own banners etc or someone elses we can claim, its really a last resort to claim form your own PLI though as you can imagine

With regards to the RSOC PLI I thought it was only for rsoc shows.

I can't see anything coming from it and the URL for s2rs.co.uk doesn't work.

I have a feeling that I'm going to end up paying myself

please check with Jerry mason etc to verify as this issue was clarified last year that rsoc paid members on rsoc stands be them at official shows or not are covered, then its a case of running through the criteria covered with any insurers fine print, as regards future publishing all organisers/traders are sent a pre check of PLI when booking stands/pitches so you wont get a penny from FP as its basically a disclaimer, but there should be a paper trail leading back to the club responsible and a possible route to claim from them, future publishing events are a helpful bunch so do call them andy as you have nothing to lose

edit re s2rs.co.uk I think they are just a facebook style club nowadays as I did see a few wearing their t shirts around the pod

I saw the "Gazebo/shelter" blow over onto the escos, it took a right battering as a big metal display rack got dragged across its bonnet.
I was about 50yds away but walking away from the area, turned to see what the noise was. TBH i can't remember whos stand it was. Let me do some digging and find out for you. It was next to Matt Lewis' iirc...?

its not that one hes worried about Rog as his car was at end of tarmac near the grass, had to be a club stand flag etc that did it

it does make me cringe when I see group stand flags/banner/gazebos at shows not fastened / fixed down correctly or someones 'bodged it' together with a cable tie or gazebos ties to flimsy bins etc etc, not saying this is whats happened in this instance but id be right pissed if one hit my car at a show due to this

I feel your pain mate its a bit shit that someone knows what happened as they would have had to pick what ever it was the hit your car up and knew it made the damage

hope you get it sorted mate

Hi there. Mate I run s2rs and just wanted you to know that it wasn't a flag from our stand. We didn't put any flags up at the weekend. We did put our gazebo up and secured that (although the wind still give it a good go at it at one point) we then re secured it. It was at the back of our stand as we always try to keep it away from others if possible. But I can honestly say that the offending flag was not from our stand. Our website is down at the min and as most of our stuff I now done on Facebook I'm in no big hurry to get it up again. I will ask my guys and girls to look through any photos they gave to see if they can help tho. Give me a shout if you want fella.
