Default Honda Jazz. Citroen C3, Vauxhall Meriva or Ford Fusion??

Out of the 4 cars above what would people reccommend for an elderly lady.

Short story is my Mother needs a new car (done a thread before about cars but decided a new thread may refresh minds etc)

Main points are ease of getting in the seat, the C3 does this brilliantly.

Only downfall is the gear stick, to low.

Are the other cars above any better?

The Honda Jazz really jumps out for some reason, this one any way...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/04-04-Hond...item2ec4cdc8be

Test drove a C3 before, this one....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-Citro...item257cadc3ba

Clutch was high bite and gear stick to low for my mother to use (drove a Picasso for 8 years)

Any other suggestions really?

Thanks

Phil

She likes the seating position of the fusion, going to test drive a Meriva later on.

Would 110k on a 04 Reg Honda put you off?

We've had two merivas, very dull, but other than that, a very cheap way of transporting the family.

mileage on a honda wouldnt put me off at all as long as it has some history to back it up. Id happily buy one with that mileage.

Honda jazz is very very popular with old folk.

You see them all the time holding people up on the road only for you to overtake and find its an OAP.

Infact ive only ever seen one honda jazz driven by someone younger than 60 and it was pimped by some saddo trying to copy the silly jap shite with big bumpers etc.

all cars mentioned seem popular with the elderly for various reasons, if it was my mother i'd be suggesting a 1.6 auto fusion - the one with the propper auto box not the smg inspired rubbish.

Honda with 110K over a citroen with 10K because it will not break but the citroen will. Ford fusion, cruel even to old people to drive as it's possibly the ugliest car ford uk made (yes I include the scorpio), meriva ok but have heard of two people now with vauxhall 1.2 engines which had major headgasket/cooling issues and vaux didn't want to know.
Yaris is also a cracking car but perhaps not what shes after.

Can you not get the C3 with an auto box, that way she only has to reach down to put it in park, reverse or drive instead of having to change gears constantly. Thats assuming she'd be interested in a auto.
